What is Instagram Plus?
Instagram Plus is a subscription-based feature set centered around Stories. Based on early testing, it includes:
- Create unlimited Story audience lists beyond Close Friends
- View Story rewatch insights
- Search within the Story viewers list
- View Stories without appearing as a viewer
- Extend Story duration up to 48 hours
- Spotlight one Story per week for increased visibility
- Send Super Hearts (animated reactions) on Stories
The subscription is separate from existing offerings and remains under evaluation, with no confirmed timeline for a wider rollout. The move reflects a broader shift toward optional paid features on social platforms, similar to services like Snapchat+.
Pricing and availability?
Instagram Plus is currently being tested in select countries, including the Philippines, Mexico, and Japan, with pricing starting at around PHP 65 per month (USD 1 / EUR 0.86 / GBP o.75 / Rs. 9.28 approx.), varying by region. Early versions also indicate a limited free trial.
