LG has announced a significant update to its LG Gaming Portal, expanding the library of games available directly on its Smart TVs. The update focuses on increasing the accessibility of cloud-based and casual gaming without the need for external consoles or additional hardware.
According to the company, the platform now hosts over 4,000 cloud-based games and 600 casual titles. The latest rollout includes partnerships with major developers, new voice-controlled options, and independent titles originally showcased at the LG webOS Hackathon.
Major Studio Collaborations
The expansion introduces several high-profile titles tailored to the capabilities of LG’s remote control and display technology:
- Just Dance Now: Developed by Ubisoft, this popular rhythm game is now available on LG Smart TVs running webOS 22 or later. The game utilizes the motion-sensing technology within the LG Magic Remote to track player movements, eliminating the need for a dedicated console. It is currently available in the US, Australia, Sweden, and Norway, with availability expanding to the rest of Europe in the coming weeks.
- Asphalt Legends Unite: Through a partnership with cloud-gaming provider Blacknut, LG has added this arcade racing IP. In the US market, the game is offered free with ads. Players can control vehicles using the directional keys on the standard remote, with immediate access to all in-game cars and maps.
- My Little Puppy: Published by Krafton and offered via Blacknut, this narrative adventure game follows a dog’s journey, focusing on story depth and visual detail on the large screen.
Voice AI and Controller Innovations

To diversify the gaming experience, LG has integrated new control methods ranging from voice commands to smartphone integration.
- Volley Partnership: LG has collaborated with Volley, a developer specializing in voice AI games. This partnership brings voice-controlled titles to US users, including the game show classic Jeopardy! and the music trivia game Song Quiz.
- LG Mobile Gamepad App: To support the growing ecosystem of games, LG launched the “LG Mobile Gamepad Wi-Fi” app. Available on both Android and iOS, this application allows users to convert their smartphones into game controllers for a smoother experience in supported titles.
Spotlight on Indie Developers
The update also incorporates award-winning titles from the recent LG webOS Hackathon, highlighting independent innovation on the platform:
- Quest of Sunflower: Created by Couchplay, this Grand Prize winner is a family adventure game that utilizes AI-generated storytelling.
- Signs of Magic: Developed by Lukas Klingsbo, this second-place winner utilizes the gyroscopic sensors in the LG Magic Remote. Players use the remote as a wand to cast spells via gestures.
