The first thing I noticed when I picked up the Z Flip 7 is how thin and light this device is. Although the device is as heavy as the previous Z Flip 6, it is significantly thinner and compact, which makes it feel great in the hand.
The Armor FlexHinge shows the company’s R&D expertise, and the Z Flip 7 has premium written all over it. When unfolded, the device has a larger display when compared to the previous version. Samsung told me that it gives the nearly same experience as an S25+ when unfolded.
Additionally, it is worth nothing that the crease on the display is not visible when unfolded. The front camera is still 10MP and no changes here.
The big story this time on the Z Flip 7 is the cover screen, which has gotten a major upgrade to a 4.1-inch FlexWindow display, which is the biggest on a Flip so far. Also, the bezels have been massively reduced. The display supports 120Hz refresh rate and, 2600 nits of brightness.
In terms of internals, the Z Flip uses the company’s homegrown Exynos 2500 SoC, which comprises of 10 cores. The battery has also been bumped up to 4300 mAh. All this has translated to better battery life of 31 hours of video playback time.
The phone comes with Android 16 and One UI 8 on top of it, making it the first phone with Android 16 out of the box.
Overall, the Z Flip 7 is certainly looking like an interesting upgrade for those who like the Flip form factor. We will dive deeper in our review to find out if the device is worth your money.
