China Mobiles

If you are using an handset with out an IMEI number, then be ready to say goodbye to your phone, because this might just be the last day the phone will be working. Tomorrow, i.e. on Dec 1 2009, all the telecom operators will block mobile devices which does not possess a valid IMEI number due to the DoT directive.

Such users whose mobile devices are blocked, will have to either buy a new handset with a valid IMEI number or walk into any one of the Special outlets set up by the COAI i.e. Cellular Operators Association of India, to get a valid IMEI number embedded onto their devices via a specific software.

To check whether your number is valid or not, you can head over to this article where we have discussed the same. And to check the IMEI number of your mobile device, just type in *#06# on your number pad and note down the number.

It has been estimated that around 20-25 million phones are about to get disconnected from tomorrow.
