Samsung Galaxy S5 mass production rumored to start in January, to come in two versions?

Samsung Galaxy S5 Metal Frame leak

Samsung Galaxy S5’s purported metal casing leaked recently. Now a Korean website ETNews is reporting that the Galaxy S5 would come in two variants, plastic and metal build. Samsung Galaxy S series devices usually enter mass production couple of months ahead of the launch, the new report suggests that the Galaxy S5 mass production would begin in January for March or April launch. The Galaxy S4 was announced earlier this March, and went on sale in April. So the S5 is also likely to go on sale immediately after the announcement.

According to the latest rumor, the premium Galaxy S5 would come with a metal frame and a 5 inch flexible OLED display. Another variant would have a normal 5 inch OLED display and a plastic chassis. Samsung is expected to mass produce 800 thousand to 1 million units in January, which would be ramped up to 6 million units in February. According to the earlier rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is rumored to come with a 64-bit Exynos / Snapdragon processor, Android 4.4 KitKat with new TouchWiz UI, 3 GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera with  ISOCELL sensor and a 4,000 mAh battery.

It is not clear which variant would come first or if both the variants would go on sale simultaneously. Will the Galaxy S5 be the first Samsung flagship in the Galaxy series to come with metallic build?
