Motorola enables bootloader unlocking for selected devices

Handset manufacturers have traditionally been quite averse to bootloader unlocking but efforts have been made by certain manufacturers to support the developer community. Joining the bandwagon is Motorola who are going to provide an officially sanctioned bootloader unlock on their devices akin to HTC Dev.

Not all devices are supported and the process involves downloading the Android SDK in addition to Motorola drivers. Instructions are provided as well so it shouldn’t be too much of an effort for the end users. Ready to give it a shot ? Head to the Motorola bootloader unlock page and give it a spin. There are tons of warnings and in all likely hood any issues arising from bootloader unlocking and flashing ROMs is not covered under warranty. Proceed at your own risk !
