
iQOO has officially scheduled the release of its next flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16, for September 29 at 19:00 at an event in China. The device will be available for purchase immediately following the announcement event.
Marketed by the brand as a performance-orientated flagship, company representatives stated during preliminary announcements that the base configuration of the device is engineered to match or surpass the capabilities of standard top-tier “Pro Max” models.
The announcement follows a joint technology communication conference held on September 14 alongside Samsung Display. During the event, both companies detailed what they described as their most comprehensive technological collaboration to date, centering around a newly engineered display panel manufactured on a dedicated flagship production line.

According to technical briefs released from the conference, the panel relies on Samsung’s latest M16 luminescent substrate combined with a custom-engineered display driver integrated circuit (IC) to achieve 165Hz refresh rates at native 2K resolution.
The screen also integrates multi-tiered eye protection and brightness management systems, including an unpolarized natural light architecture, hardware-level DC dimming across all brightness levels, and a triple-sensor ambient light configuration designed to dynamically adjust luminance across diverse lighting conditions.
