HUAWEI Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design to launch on September 7


HUAWEI is set to introduce the HUAWEI Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design, its new tri-fold smartphone, in China on September 7. It will succeed the HUAWEI Mate XT Ultimate Design, which was launched in 2024.

The Mate XT 2 will feature an inward-folding design with a cover screen when folded, unlike the original Mate XT and Mate XTs. It will come in Black, White and Purple colour options, compared to four colour options for the previous model.

HUAWEI’s teaser says, “Unfold extraordinary with Huawei’s brand-new tri-fold smartphone and experience effortless versatility in your hands.”

The phone will be offered in the following colour and storage configurations:

  • Black: 16GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB, 16GB + 1TB Lingdun Privacy Screen
  • White: 16GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB, 16GB + 1TB Lingdun Privacy Screen
  • Purple: 16GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB, 16GB + 1TB Lingdun Privacy Screen, 16GB + 2TB Stylus Set with Spirit Shield Privacy Screen

The phone is expected to be powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset and pack a 6,000mAh battery.

Launch and availability

HUAWEI has opened pre-reservations for the Mate XT 2 in China, with pricing and other details expected to be announced at the September 7 launch.
