Instagram and Edits introduced a set of themed creative features across Stories, Reels, Notes, and direct messages for Valentine’s Day 2026. The update includes seasonal fonts, text effects, sticker frames, interactive phrases, sound effects, and playback controls.
Valentine’s features on Instagram
Instagram added Valentine’s-themed customization options across multiple parts of the app:
- New fonts and text effects: Valentine’s-themed fonts and animated text styles can be applied to Stories and Reels.
- Photo sticker frames: Love-themed sticker frames are available for photos and selfies shared in Stories.
- Story comments secret phrases: Entering specific phrases in Story comments unlocks hidden visual themes and animations.
- Custom Story mentions: A themed mention sticker allows users to tag partners or friends within Stories.
- Notes hint text and themes: Valentine’s-themed prompts and hidden phrases appear in Notes, enabling themed styling and interactive effects.
- DM chat theme: A dedicated Valentine’s chat appearance can be enabled in both light and dark modes.
Valentine’s features on Edits
Edits added seasonal tools focused on short-form video creation:
- Valentine’s Day fonts: New themed fonts and text presets are available for reels.
- Valentine’s Day sound effects: Audio additions include harp-style tones and heartbeat effects.
- Speed controls up to 100×: Playback speed can be increased up to 100× for stylized motion effects.

Valentine’s-themed features on Instagram are available from February 12 through February 16, 2026. The fonts, sound effects, and speed controls added to Edits remain available going forward.
