MediaTek and Google partner for on-device generative AI on Dimensity 9300 and 8300 SoCs

MediaTek has announced collaboration with Google to optimize Gemini Nano, Google’s innovative Large Language Model (LLM), for its flagship Dimensity 9300 and Dimensity 8300 chipsets.

This collaboration leverages the power of MediaTek’s NeuroPilot AI platform and Google’s expertise in AI development to enable seamless on-device Generative AI experiences on smartphones.

On-device Generative AI offers significant advantages over traditional cloud-based solutions:

  • Seamless performance: Enjoy smooth and responsive AI experiences, even in areas with limited connectivity.
  • Enhanced privacy and security: Keep your data secure and private with on-device processing.
  • Improved reliability: Experience consistent performance without relying on external servers.
  • Lower latency: Get faster response times for real-time interactions.
  • Offline functionality: Access AI features even without an internet connection.
  • Reduced costs: Benefit from lower operational expenses compared to cloud-based solutions.

To further empower the developer community, MediaTek and Google plan to release an APK specifically designed for the Dimensity 9300 and 8300 chipsets. This APK will simplify the integration of Gemini Nano applications, accelerating the development and deployment of innovative AI experiences for smartphone users.
