OPPO Find X3 series with full-patch 10-bit colour management system coming in 2021


In the second day of OPPO’s INNO DAY 2020 event, OPPO announced full-path colour management system that will support 10-bit image and video. This will support 10-bit DCI-P3 colour gamut in images and HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format), and will fully support true 10-bit images as well as videos, right from shooting, encoding, storage, decoding, and display of the content.

OPPO R&D has created distortion correction, multi-frame noise reduction, and ultra-high resolution technologies. It supports image sensors with  Digital Overlap (DOL) HDR mode. OPPO said that it will maintain a 0.4 JNCD (Just Noticeable Colour Difference) level for a consistently accurate display on the screen.

It will use D65 as the standard white point colour temperature ensuring consistency of the display of different colour gamuts. There will also be colour management SDK for third-party apps to prevent the inconsistency in the colour gamut of different applications.  in the color gamut of different applications. OPPO will upgrade its colour compensation system to version 2.0, and it has been working with Zhejiang University for it.

OPPO said that will introduce the new 10-bit colour management system first in its flagship Find X3 series in 2021.
