Bose QC35 II Gaming Headset variant hinted in Bose Connect App apk teardown

The Bose QC35 II is very popular among the audio community for having great sound quality and some of the best noise cancellation technology in the market. The headset connects to a smartphone via the Bose Connect app and in a teardown of its apk file, references to a new gaming focused variant have been spotted.

In the APK teardown, a device with the codename “Tibbers” has been referenced in multiple lines of code. With it, there are strings talking about a gaming microphone that can be connected to the headset via the AUX port in the left ear cup. It also mentions Bluetooth being disabled automatically once the Gaming microphone is connected.

In a later part of the code, the app clearly mentions a “Bose QC35 II Gaming Headset.” as the official name for Tibbers. The headset will only work in wired connection mode and not in Bluetooth mode. It is unclear whether Bose will be selling the gaming headset as a whole product or just the microphone as an accessory.
