Samsung Smart TVs get 6 new wellness apps with 5000+ hours of fitness content

In times of the lockdown and home quarantine, the importance of staying fit has risen. To help this situation, Samsung has partnered with 6 leading fitness brands – barre3, Calm, Echelon, Fitplan, Jillian Michaels Fitness and obé Fitness, to release their fitness and wellness apps for the Samsung Smart TV platform.

Originally the content from these partnerships were meant to be integrated into Samsung Health that was slated to launch later this summer. However since the current pandemic situation has raised the need for fitness at home, Samsung has decided to provide early access to its Smart TV customers. This includes over 250 instructive videos and 5000+ hours of at-home wellness content, from barre classes and guided meditations, to celebrity-led personal training sessions.

Once Samsung releases its Samsung Health app for the 2020 Smart TV line up, these fitness partnerships are expected to be integrated into it. After which, customers will be able to access more alternatives to traditional exercise options with personalised schedules and training.

Commenting on the partnership with these fitness brands, Salek Brodsky, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development for Samsung Electronics said:

As our community grapples with unprecedented disruptions to their daily routines, it is important for homebound consumers to have access to free high-quality health and wellness offerings. Our partnership with these premium brands redefines the boundaries of what free streaming services can provide, and we look forward to enhancing these offerings by bringing a full Samsung Health experience to our TVs later this year.
