According to the Dutch health council there is no evidence that radiation from mobile phones and towers is harmful to people. The Dutch Electromagnetic Fields Committee of the council studied research from around the world done between 2003 and 2005 and said the outcome of studies proved either inconclusive or did not meet scientific criteria. The council disagrees with some studies that show a connection between living in the proximity of a base station and the occurrences of cancer or increased risk of leukemia. The Heath council also said that it remains unclear to what extent the long-term use of a mobile phone is related to the occurrences of acoustic neuromas  or non-malignant tumors.
