Garmin has announced VIRB 360 rugged and fully spherical 360-degree camera. The waterproof action camera captures video up to 5.7K/30fps and comes with four built-in microphones. Along with videos, the VIRB 360 can take stitched-in-camera, 360-degree, 15 megapixel spherical photos.
It features built-in GPS, one-touch button control and voice controls to start and stop recordings, snap photos and more. The VIRB 360 offers a rechargeable, one-hour battery life while recording. It offers single capture, burst shooting, and time lapse. Additionally, the camera is equipped with a sunlight-readable display for users to identify battery life, storage capacity and video modes.
It supports expandable memory up to 128GB via microSD cards. Connectivity options on the camera include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ANT+, and NFC (one-tap connection with Android devices). There is a free VIRB mobile app and VIRB Edit desktop software that let you edit, stabilize, share and add data overlays to videos. There’s also a live-streaming feature, which is compatible with YouTube and Facebook Live.
The Garmin VIRB 360 retails for $799.99 and is expected to be available in June.
