Facebook Year in Review: Diwali, surgical strikes most talked about topics in India


After Google, Twitter and YouTube, Facebook is also giving us a recap of what all moments and events were most talked about in 2016 in India. Facebook’s Year-end review for 2016 shares inisghts that we talked most about Diwali, Cricket, Uri attacks and surgical strikes this year.

Facebook has measured top 10 moments of the year by counting how frequently a topic was mentioned in Facebook posts made between January 1 and November 27, 2016. The social network revealed that India has approximately 166 million monthly active users with 159 million monthly active users on mobile. There are over 85 million daily active users on Facebook in India apart from the 81 million daily active users on Mobile.

Facebook also shared some insights on Instagram that says Marine Drive, Mumbai was the most Instagrammed locations of 2016 in India, followed by Taj Mahal and Hauz Khas Village.
