Google Play Books debuts Bubble Zoom to make it easier to read comics on phone

Google has rolled out a new feature for Play Books with an aim to make it easier for users to read comics on their phone. Dubbed as Bubble Zoom, the feature uses machine learning to zoom into speech bubbles as you read on your mobile device.

Prior to this, users had to use two fingers to zoom on the comics. The Bubble Zoom uses same machine learning technology to recognize objects in photos. As you tap, the new feature will zooms into the speech bubbles of a comic book, making them easier to read on the go. You can move to each different bubble by tapping on the right side of the screen or pressing one of the volume buttons on your phone or tablet.

Bubble Zoom is currently in technology preview within Google Play Books of all supported Marvel and DC titles. Google is running a 50% off sale on select Marvel and DC comic books in the Play Store and you can use code SDCC2016 to grab the deal by July 24th.
