Samsung Smart TV

Samsung is reportedly in early talks with entertainment companies to sell its own online TV streaming service.

According to a Bloomberg report citing people (undisclosed identity) familiar with the matter, the South Korean electronics giant is evaluating the idea of an online TV streaming service and is asking media companies for charges to carry their TV service in a bundle of channels over the Web.

Moreover, the company wants to offer the same service around the world rather than just in the United States. But as of now, these are preliminary talks and and Samsung may ultimately decide not to pursue the concept, added report.

While Samsung may neither confirm nor deny the report, their official statement to Bloomberg notes, “Our approach is to continue to develop strategic collaborations with content partners rather than compete with them.”
