KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had hinted earlier in January that the iPhone 7 Plus might come in two versions – one with single camera and other with dual camera setup. However, now the analyst is suggesting that the company is going with a single model of iPhone 7 Plus with dual cameras.

According Kuo, Apple is going with a single 5.5 inch version of iPhone 7 Plus that will sport a 3GB RAM to meet the image processing requirement.  Earlier it was reported that the Pro model of iPhone 7 will have dual cameras but Kuo said that Apple will no longer do this as a single-camera iPhone 7 Plus would undermine demand for the dual-camera model. He further hinted that the iPhone 7 Plus will have an optical zoom built into the lens. Kuo also estimated shipments to hit 20-30 million units in 2016.

iPhone-7-Pro-WATERMARKED

We have recently seen trends of dual cameras on flagships like LG G5 and Huawei P9. A couple of CAD schematics that were leaked yesterday, suggested that the iPhone 7 Plus could have the same Smart Connector that is present on the iPad Pro. These schematics show that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus sport a similar design except the 3.5mm audio headphone jack.
