Chrome for Android gets improved data saver mode

Google has updated Chrome for Android with an improved data saver mode that reduces the amount of data used when you visit a webpage. With the latest update, Chrome will now save upto 70 percent of data.

When you enable the Data Saver mode, Chrome will automatically load websites without images. When Chrome realizes that your connection is slow, it will show a pop-up message at the bottom of your screen that says “Slow connection detected”. You can tap to show all images or just the individual ones you want. This will make the web faster and cheaper to access on slow connections.

Google said that the new data saver mode for Chrome will come to India and Indonesia first and will expand to more countries in the coming months. Android users can turn this on within Chrome by going to Settings > Data Saver > On.
