Skype 6.6 now available on iOS – Improved multitasking and information detection

Skype has just released version 6.6 on iOS devices. The new version for iPad and iPhones mainly focuses on improving the multi-tasking experience on the devices.

Skype 6.6 now highlights phone numbers, addresses, times and dates. Users can start an action just by tapping the highlighted text and Skype will open the corresponding app or action. For example, tapping on an address will open up Apple Maps for you ir a number will open up the Skype dialpad.

They’ve also made it easier for users to return to a Skype audio or video call from the contact list or messages. All the user has to do now is to tap on the active call banner and they will be taken back to the current conversation. You can also see an unread message counter for IMs and you just need to hit back in order to see what you haven’t seen already.
