Periscope rolls out “On Air” button to embed profiles

Periscope had introduced web profiles for users last month. Now, the live streaming app is getting an “On Air” button that lets you embed profiles anywhere on the web.

On-Air-Buttons

The On Air Button displays the user’s live status and username and the widget will come to life when the broadcaster goes LIVE!. Users will simply have to enter their Periscope username into Periscope’s button generator, and it creates a code so you can embed a button into a webpage.  Clicking the On Air button will open a new window displaying user’s profile page. Their broadcast will automatically start playing, if the user is LIVE when the profile page loads. The On Air button is available in two sizes- large and small and it automatically toggles when a broadcast goes live. However, Periscope still lacks the ability to embed a video stream which is already present on Meerkat.

The Twitter owned live streaming app recently announced that it has 10 million registered users. Periscope has been constantly updating its mobile apps on Android and iOS since its launch. Last month, the app got landscape support.
