Google announces Android Sensor Hub that monitors your device’s movements

Google announced Android Sensor Hub which is a feature common to both the LG Nexus 5X as well as the Huawei Nexus 6P. It is basically a secondary processor that is designed to keep a track of the device’s movements.

The main purpose of this sensor is to start monitoring the users activities without having the need to be prompted by the user and will work regardless of whether the device is awake or sleeping.

It can also provide the user with notifications when the device is picked up. It will display information in simple white text on a black background thus saving battery in the process. This is something that Motorola has been doing in its latest smartphone but instead of using IR sensors on the front of the device, this actually makes use of the Android Sensor Hub.

It is also connected directly to the camera’s sensors to conserve energy and can provide the acquired data to apps and the system to different purposes. It will also be able to recognise gestures while using the phone.
