Apple has unveiled a new MacBook at its ‘Spring Forward’ event in San Francisco. The all new MacBook is an engineering marvel in a lot of ways and the latest notebook is even thinner than the company’s MacBook Air.

The new 12-inch MacBook is just about 13.1mm at its thinnest point and can it get any thinner than this? Well, we doubt it. The notebook is 907 grams in weight.

Apple is calling the new model as MacBook and there’s no suffix to it. The MacBook comes with an all metal finish and has a fanless design. So, there’s going to be no noise from the device at all, but we will have to wait and see how the heat sinks.

The company has achieved the thinness by stripping most of the ports. The machine features just one USB-C port on the left side and acts as both charging and connectivity port. The 3.5mm audio jack is on the other side of the device. Apple has also revamped its keyboard and track pad and the latter is the industry’s first with vibration feedback.

The 12-inch MacBook sports a retina display with a resolution of 2304 x 1440 pixels. The base model will feature 1.1GHz Intel Core M Broadwell CPU with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage option.  There’s also a bumped up version that has 1.2GHz CPU, 8GB RAM and 512GB memory configuration.

Apple will be selling its 12-inch MacBook in silver, space grey and gold color options. The base model starts at $1299. The new Apple MacBook will be up for grabs starting April 10.

In India it will available be though Apple Authorized Resellers from April 10th and starts at Rs. 99,900 inc VAT and the enhanced variant starts at Rs. 1,19,900 inc VAT.
