Nokia 105 affordable phone launching in India in April for Rs. 1200

Nokia 105, the company’s most affordable entry-level phone with a color screen would launch in India later this month, according to a recent report from Hindu Business Line. The Nokia 105 was announced at the MWC 2013 back in February. It has a 1.45-inch (128 x 128 pixels) 65k Colour TFT Display, has FM Radio support and comes with Nokia Life in select markets.  This phone is based on Nokia’s Series 30 platform similar to the Nokia 100 and 101 affordable entry-level phones that were launched in India last year. It would offer up to 12.5 hours of talk time and up to 35 days of standby.

Nokia is planning to phase out the 1280, which has sold over 10 crore units. This phone is aimed at entry-level markets such as India, Africa and China. Nokia launched the Lumia 520 and the Lumia 720 in India last month. The Lumia 520 went on sale in India earlier this week, and the Lumia 720 is expected to go on sale later this month.

Indian government did not levy customs duty on mobile phones costing less than Rs 2,000, which would let the companies sell phones like the Nokia 105 at more affordable rates.

The Nokia 105 is expected to go on sale later this month for around Rs. 1200.
