Google Pixel 3 XL with 19:9 notch display and Pixel 3 screen protector surface

Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL

Google usually introduces Pixel-branded smartphones and other hardware products at the Pixel event in October. Following the tradition this year as well, Google is expected to introduced Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. But before the company launches them, here we might have the first look at the front tempered glass screen protectors of the upcoming Google flagships.

From the leaked front screen protector design, it is evident that the Google Pixel 3 XL will be embracing the notch, following the trend. The notch area will have the selfie shooter, main earpiece, sensors, and possibly a senor for 3D face unlock. There is a cut out at the bottom, we hope it might be for speaker grill, similar to the predecessor. On the other hand, the regular Pixel 3 will have an 18:9 aspect ratio display and it looks a lot like the Galaxy S8/S9. Interestingly, even this has similar cut outs at the top and the bottom.

This is a huge step forward for Google in terms of design and the company might be officially ditching the typical 16:9 aspect ratio for good. In terms of specifications, our educated guess would be an AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, 4/6GB RAM and range of storage options starting with 64GB. Google did wonders with the Pixel 2 camera with just a single rear camera sensor, and it is not clear if the company will still stick to single sensor this time.

Other details about the flagships remain a mystery as of now, but there is hope for more details to show up in the coming days. Google is also said to be launching a Pixel branded smartwatch alongside the Pixel 3 smartphones.
