Nokia 5 Android 8.0 Oreo Beta update was made available two days ago, while it brings latest OS on the table, there are hidden surprising features in the updated camera app. Nokiamob in association with Suomimobiili.fi have discovered interesting “hidden” features.

For starters, the camera interface is very much similar to the HMD Global’s Nokia 7 smartphone which was launched a while ago as a China exclusive phone. The camera app version 8.0200.20 brings support for telephoto camera mode with 2X (2 times) optical zoom a wide-angle mode, shutter speed 1/500-1s and ISO of upto 100-2000.

Not all these features are not accessible on the Nokia 5 due to the camera limitations and also these features aren’t finished, except for shutter speed 1/500-1s and ISO of upto 100-2000.

Other HMD Global’s high-end phones like Nokia 7, and Nokia 8 could have features as well as new settings. The inclusion of Telephoto and Wide-angle indicates that HMD global might be replacing the Monochrome mode with these features.

The upcoming Nokia 9 could have the dual-camera setup with telephoto and wide-angle lens instead of monochrome. There is no concrete information that can draw us any conclusions, but we should know more details when the Nokia 9 goes official. The Nokia 9 announcement is rumored for January in China first and other markets to follow gradually.
