Qualcomm at its second annual summit has showcased its Aqstic Hi-Fi DAC; AQT1000 as headphone jack is slowly becoming obsolete. The Qualcomm-made audio DAC supports playback of formats at up to 384KHz and 32 bits, including the obscure DSD format. Earlier this year it introduced Aqstic USB-C Headset Code WHS9420, single chip USB audio SoC platforms designed specifically for USB-C connected audio devices.

Most phones that lack a 3.5mm audio jack come with a USB dongle adapter that will act as adapters for the traditional analog port and the sad part is that the audio quality via dongles doesn’t sound very good. To address this issue, Qualcomm’s AQT1000 comes with a dynamic range of 123dB and a THD+N of -105dB. Qualcomm says that the DAC uses extremely low power consumption and also has support for active noise cancellation.

The Qualcomm Aqstic Hi-Fi audio DAC AQT1000 plugs into a USB-C port and offers 3.5mm audio jack just like the USB Type-C dongle but with a better DAC. It has support for DSD audio. Aqstic Voice U.I also powers the Google Assistant, it is low power voice activation with Aqstic Voice suite. The Qualcomm USB-C Aqstic Hi-Fi audio DAC AQT1000 will be available to headphone makers for 2018 products.
