If you were wondering what IDEOS stands for , here is the explanation from the company

The name “IDEOS” embodies creativity and inspiration: the “ID” represents the industrial design-centric hardware platform, the “OS” represents the operating system as the core software platform, and the “E” symbolizes the evolution toward the mobile internet.

Kevin Tao, CEO of Huawei Device said  “The popularity of the smartphone is one of the key tools to bringing people into the ‘Golden Age of Mobile Broadband,’ which is linked to Google’s mobile Internet strategy. ”
“We are proud to have already achieved our goal from early 2010 of developing a US$150 smartphone with an excellent user experience. The IDEOS is an affordable option, designed to lower barriers to entry to allow easy mobile Internet access.”

I got an Ideos phone a week ago and its like I have to keep on charging it. I have notice an icon H with two arrows one facing up and the other down, could this be the problem and how do I get rid of it.

    Thank you

the H denotes HSDPA for 3g connection. some time s yuo will also notice E for Edge(2G connectivity). otherwise there is a problem with the battery because of the many applications running on the phone in the background.

I have been using the Huawei Ideos for the last 3 months its true with the battery I do very little with the phone and the butery lasts for only a day or two I have tried using battery doctor and the NetQin Adroid Booster but the battery drains very fast.

I have also noted that the alarm doesn’t activate when the phone is switched off this has messed me several times: I expect huawei to improve the situation urgently.

Otherwise its also advisable to close all application including bluetooth, Wifi and Data enabled to save on battery and on your data bundles once you are done accessing the internet coz they also drain the battery fast.

I have had one for the last month and yeah When I first started using it the battery was like dead within a hour and I was like wtf lol, Apparently every tom dick and harry functionality was like turned on by default wifi/3g/bluetooth/gps/ and the rest. So I turned off all those and just kept the 2g network on and now will last me through for like at least 48 hours without a charge.

So really just make sure you turn off gps or 3g network and bluetooth and wifi when not using it to save battery power.

They could of at least put in a better battery pack into the device has so much going for it.

Still I like this phone really awesome to have.

    Pros: Everything
    Cons: Battery ( lol )
