Microsoft extends mapping deal with HERE


Here MapsHERE Maps has signed a multi-year strategic commercial agreement with Microsoft to where the later will leverage former’s map data and platform services in the development of its products and services. In fact, Microsoft was already using Here data in Bing Maps (Bing.com, Cortana and other services) and Bing Maps API. With this agreement, the company will use HERE data in its future connected cars as well.

Microsoft also signed a deal with TomTom, where it will uses enterprise-grade location services based on TomTom’s maps, navigation and traffic software into Microsoft Azure for developers when needed.
