Instagram has started rolling out a new feature with its latest update that allows users to save posts as drafts.

The Facebook owned photo streaming app started testing this feature in July on selected users but it is now live for everyone. In order to save a draft you will have to:

  1. Tap the camer button at the bottom of the screen, then take or upload a photo or video
  2. Add effects, filters, a caption or your location
  3. Go back to the filtering and editing step, then tap the back arrow in the top left
  4. Select Save Draft at the bottom of the screen

To access your saved draft, you will have to tap the Camera button at the center of Instagram’s bottom bar, and it will appear in the Gallery section above your pictures. Instagram notes that if you don’t edit the post, tag people or add a caption or location, you will not be able to save the post as a draft.

This is a welcome feature from Instagram as there are large number of users who want to take their time to post a photo and hence saving them as drafts and then posting will be a nice little addition.
