Windows 10 now running on more than 270 million devices, fastest Windows growth ever

Few hours back at the //Build 2016 in San Francisco, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 is now running on more than 270 million active devices worldwide after 8 months of its launch. Earlier this year Microsoft announced that it was running on more than 200 million active devices worldwide. Windows 10 is the fastest growth on any Windows ever, outpacing Windows 7 in the same timeframe by 145%.

“People are spending more time on Windows than ever before – over 75 billion hours – with the highest customer satisfaction of any version of Windows. We are on track to reach our ambitious goal of one billion Windows 10 devices in the next few years,” said Microsoft.

Since the launch Microsoft has released several updates for Windows 10. At the event Microsoft also announced that it will roll out Windows 10 Anniversary Update to PCs, tablets, phones, Xbox One, Microsoft HoloLens and IoT thus summer that twill bring Windows Hello Brings Biometric Security to Apps and Microsoft Edge, Windows Ink, new Cortana Collection and more.

As we already know, Windows 10 will be free to upgrade for existing users of Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 till July 29th, 2016. Windows 10 is available in different editions – Home, Pro, Enterprise and Education.
