Apple’s OS X El Capitan to be released on September 30th


Apple announced the new iPhones and iPad Pro at its event yesterday. Along with these two important launches, the company unexpectedly revealed the shipping date of its latest Mac software – El Capitan.

Apple has seeded the golden master version of the latest update to its desktop operating system, OS X 10.11 El Capitan. The update, which comes with a build number of 15A282b, is now available on Apple’s Developer Center for registered developers. El Capitan has been available in public beta since July. The company is expected to launch El Capitan as a free update for Mac owners on September 30th.

OS X El Capitan brings several big features to the Mac, including a new Split View option for side-by-side multitasking, improved Spotlight and Mission Control functionality, an updated Notes app, updated Safari that include Pinned Sites and a universal mute button and more.
