Google acquires image sharing and photo backup service Odysee


Google has acquired photo sharing service Odysee for an undisclosed sum. Present on Android and iOS, the Odysee app allows users to backup and share photos and videos offline.

As a result of the acquisition, Odysee will shut down on February 23 and the team members will join Google+ team. It will let users download an archive of all their images from archive. The Odysee app for Android and iOS have been taken down from the respective app stores. Odysee allows users to store photos and videos on their personal desktops, sync them across devices and share them with followers. Google has acquired the service to boost its Google+ social network.
