Virgin Mobile launches GSM Services in South India signs up Genelia and Ranbir as brand ambassadors


Virgin Mobile has launched GSM Services in South India today . The service will be initially available in Andra Pradesh , Kerala , Karnataka , Chennai  and Tamil Nadu. It has also signed up Genelia D’Souza and Ranbir Kapoor as Brand AmbassadorsThe starter kit would cost Rs 49 have Lifetime Validity. STD will be Pre-activated in the SIM Cards. There is a Per Second Plan and a Per Minute Plan

STD calls can cost as less as 20 paise with a daily rental ( inside the network) and 50 paise outside.

Under the per second plan both local and  std calls are charged at 1 paise per second

The Virgin Mobile  CDMA service uses the network of Tata Teleservices and  Virgin’s GSM service is also expected to unitize the same

On the occasion of the launch, Sir Richard Branson, chairman and founder of Virgin Mobile, said in a message: “The Virgin Mobile brand in India has created distinct benchmarks in the youth segment.
