“We’re delighted to announce that Lunchtime and Obedovat, the largest lunch menu websites in the Czech Republic and Slovakia respectively, are now a part of Zomato. Over the course of building up our European operations, we’ve observed that lunch menus are key to the dining behavior in the Central and Eastern European region. With lunch menus for over 5000 restaurants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Lunchtime and Obedovat provide us with a great platform onto which we can build Zomato’s features.”

said Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO, Zomato in a company blog post.

Zomato will build an integrated product over the coming months after the latest acquisition. The Lunchtime and Obedovat teams will be working closely with the Zomato as a result of the buyout.

The popular restaurant guide has been aggressively expanding its global presence over the past two quarters and at the same time strengthening its presence in existing markets. The company acquired MenuMania, the leading restaurant discovery service in New Zealand, in July. Meanwhile, in April Zomato got a major social revamp with refreshed UI and features across all its mobile platforms.

The latest acquisitions are a strategic move to establish Zomato’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe. Founded in 2008, it claims to provide information on 250,000 restaurants, and currently sees over 23 million monthly visits globally, across its web and mobile platforms.
