Moto G2 with 5 inch screen rumored to be released on Sept.10

The successor of the popular budget handset Moto G could be released  as soon as next month according to a new report from GSM Arena. Apparently, an unidentified retailer received the information directly from a Motorola representative that the successor to the Moto G “should” be available for purchase beginning September 10.

Moto G2 is said to sport a 5-inch 720 x 1280 pixels larger than the original Moto G which offers a 4.5-inch screen. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, clocked at 1.2GHz. Other specifications include 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 2MP camera on the front. It should launch with Android 4.4.4 KitKat right out of the box.   Similar to the Moto G, Moto G2 will be a dual-SIM smartphone. These specs were recently spotted at GFX Benchmark.

The source in the report also stated an alleged price tag €250($350) for the Moto G2 which is double the original Moto G price and about 25% above the current Moto G 4G model. Along with Moto G 2, Motorola  is also expected to release its Moto X successor (Moto X+1) as well as its Moto 360 smartwatch. Yesterday, there was a report stating that the Moto X might launch on September 25 on Verizon.

Meanwhile, in other news Moto G2 is expected to arrive in Australia later this month as per Asudroid. The phone was listed in an inventory system of an Australian retailer. There is no official word from Motorola about both the phone launches.
