Uber offers free rides during polling hours on April 24th in Chennai and Mumbai


Earlier this month Uber announced that it would offer free riders to customers on polling days in Indian cities it operates, today the company has revealed promo codes for Chennai and Mumbai that would let the customers in these cities get a free Uber ride during polling hours (7am-7pm) on April 24th. Uber was initially launched in Delhi back in October last year and expanded to other major cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

You can get two free rides to get you to polling booth and get back (upto Rs. 1000 each) by entering promo code VOTECHENNAI for Chennai and VOTEMUM for Mumbai on polling day, April 24th between 7am and 7pm. Uber also offered free rides for Delhi customers on April 10th and Bangalore on April 17th. It would also offer free rides in Hyderabad on polling day, April 30th.

This would be useful for senior citizens and the specially abled persons who can’t get to polling booth to cast their votes. Uber is also running a contest related to elections, just like they did for Delhi. Once you are done voting, you need to tweet or instagram your pictures & videos with #UberVoteChennai or #UberMumbaiVotes and tell why your vote mattered or the the change you hope to see. Best submissions will let you stand a chance to win Uber credits.
