Paytm Payment Gateway integrates Claude for AI-powered payment queries

Paytm Payments Services Limited (PPSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of One 97 Communications Limited, has announced the integration of Paytm Payment Gateway with Anthropic’s Claude through an MCP (Model Context Protocol) Connector. The integration allows businesses to access authorised payment information through AI prompts.

Paytm Payment Gateway and Claude integration

Merchants can connect their Paytm Payment Gateway account with Claude and use conversational prompts to access:

  • Transactions
  • Payment links
  • Refunds
  • Settlements
  • Subscriptions
  • Order status
  • Reconciliation details

Businesses can retrieve this information through prompts instead of switching between dashboard pages, reports or direct API calls. Entrepreneurs can check collections, finance teams can review settlements and reconciliation, support teams can check payment and refund status, while developers can access authorised payment information for AI-enabled workflows.

The integration also supports business operations teams, developers and entrepreneurs building AI-first commerce workflows. The MCP standard connects Claude with Paytm Payment Gateway APIs through authenticated and merchant-authorised access.

Security and access control

Businesses connect their merchant accounts through secure authentication and retain control over access, with payment information shared only through authorised permissions, while payment execution, refunds and settlements continue through merchant-controlled processes on PPSL’s infrastructure.

Availability

The integration is available for businesses, MSMEs, enterprises and developers using Paytm Payment Gateway for payment-related workflows.

Commenting on the integration, a Paytm Payment Gateway spokesperson said,

AI becomes valuable for businesses when it connects securely with real-world workflows. This integration helps entrepreneurs, developers and business teams access payment insights faster, with built-in security and authorised access.
