Sony Xperia Z1 Benchmarks

Sony launched the Xperia Z1, their latest flagship Android phone with a 5-inch 1080p display and a Snapdragon 800 processor in India recently. We brought you the unboxing of the device recently. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) 28nm HPm quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. As you can see on the image above CPU-Z says that it is clocked at 2.15 GHz. The Xperia Z Ultra was also powered by the same chip. Let’s find out how it compares with other high-end devices in various synthetic benchmark tests.

Quadrant Benchmark

The Xperia Z1 scores 18015 points in the Quadrant benchmark, almost similar to the Z Ultra.

AnTuTu Benchmark 3.3

The Xperia Z1 is better than te Z Ultra in the AnTuTu benchmark 3.3

Vellamo 2.0 HTML5

In the Vellamo 2 HTML5 browser benchmark the Z1 scores 2936points, which is better than the Z Ultra.

Vellamo 2.0 Metal

It scores over 1000 points in the Vellamo 2 Metal CPU subsystem performance test, but couldn’t beat the Z Ultra.

Linpack Single Thread

In the Linpack single thread benchmark it scores around 445 points, more than the Z Ultra.

Linpack Multi-Thread

It clocks close to 1000 MFLOPs in the Linpack multi-thread benchmark, better than the Z Ultra.

NenaMark 2

It scores 60 fps similar to other devices in the NenaMark GPU test. This test restricts the GPU under 60 fps. NenaMark should come up with a new version that goes more than 60 fps.

GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex (On screen)

Since the Snapdragon 800 test device had a 720p display it clocked 38fps. The Z1  clocked 24 fps similar to the Z Ultra in the GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex On screen test.

GFXBench 2.5 Egypt HD (On screen)

The Xperia Z1 is right behind the test device clocking 53 FPS in the GFXBench 2.5 Egypt benchmark, better than the Z Ultra.

Basemark X HD (Onscreen)

The Xperia Z1 clocks 16.4 fps and lies right behind the Z Ultra.

Basemark X HD (Offscreen)

The Z1 manages to clock just 10 fps in the Basemark X OffScreen test.
