Opera Air gets minimalist redesign with new Soundscapes, Breaks and refreshed wallpapers

Opera Air update

Opera has announced a redesign of Opera Air, its browser that launched in February 2025. The update retains the browser’s minimalist approach while refreshing its interface and features.

Opera Air redesign: Soundscapes and Breaks

Opera Air starts with a clean interface, with additional tools available when needed. Users can add messaging and social media apps to the sidebar. The redesign also introduces refreshed wallpapers featuring open spaces, perspective, and natural textures, which automatically adapt to Light and Dark themes.

The browser includes a built-in ad blocker for faster, less cluttered browsing, along with a free VPN for added privacy and protection online.

Opera Air Soundscapes

Opera Air’s Soundscapes combine music and ambient sounds to help users focus or unwind. They are available in four categories:

  • Focus
  • Relax
  • Work
  • Ambience: Includes sounds such as Sea Waves and Spring Forest.

Five new Soundscapes feature original music composed specifically for Opera Air. One of them is Hyperfocus, a more energetic track designed for settling into a task and staying focused.

Opera Air Breaks

The browser also includes Breaks, which provide short breathing exercises and neck stretches directly in the sidebar. Users can set optional reminders at chosen intervals.

Availability

The new updates are available now. Users can download the browser from the official website.

Speaking about the redesign, Maciej Kocemba, Product Director at Opera, said:

Creating simple software is one of the hardest things to do. There is always another feature you could add, another button or choice you could give people. We think of Air like an uncluttered desk: the tools you need are there, but nothing is fighting for your attention.
