KRAFTON India announces H2 2026 BGMI Esports Roadmap

Following the conclusion of its first-half schedule, KRAFTON India has outlined its esports roadmap for the second half of 2026. The publisher announced two main tournaments: the BGMI International Cup (BMIC) Season 2 and the BGMI Showdown (BMSD).

Both events are designed to elevate competitive Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) by introducing cross-regional play in Mumbai and establishing a performance-based invite system for national teams.

BGMI International Cup (BMIC) Season 2

Scheduled from October 30 to November 1, 2026, the Grand Finals of BMIC Season 2 will take place at the Dome, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Indoor Stadium in Mumbai.

The offline event features a total prize pool of ₹1 Crore and brings together 16 qualified teams representing three Asian regions:

  • India: 6 Teams
  • South Korea: 5 Teams
  • Japan: 5 Teams

This marks a significant move to host international regional teams live on Indian soil, allowing domestic rosters to compete directly against top Asian contenders in front of a live stadium audience.

BGMI Showdown (BMSD)

Serving as a national championship prior to BMIC, the BGMI Showdown (BMSD) is an exclusive, invite-only tournament featuring 48 top Indian teams. Invitations are strictly determined through cumulative performances in the KIE Leaderboard, BGIS (Battlegrounds Mobile India Series), and BMPS (Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series), with no open qualifier entries.

The tournament begins on September 22, 2026, moving through various qualification phases before culminating in a live LAN Grand Finals from October 16–18, 2026. Like BMIC, BMSD carries a prize pool of ₹1 Crore.

BMSD Tournament Schedule
Phase Dates
Week 1 (Promotion/Relegation) September 22–24
Week 2 (Promotion/Relegation) September 25–27
Week 3 (Promotion/Relegation) September 28–30

Lower Bracket Survival October 4–6
Semi-Finals October 8–11

By introducing a direct competitive pipeline through the BGMI Showdown and offering international exposure through the BGMI International Cup, KRAFTON India’s H2 2026 strategy aims to foster higher competitive standards and establish structured pathways for top-tier esports talent.
