Samsung Galaxy M47 5G to launch in India on June 29

After teaser, Samsung India has officially announced that it will launch the Galaxy M47 5G on June 29th. Positioned as the newest addition to the company’s mid-range Galaxy M series, the smartphone targets younger consumers with a focus on entertainment, mobile gaming, and extended battery performance.

Performance and Hardware Architecture

The Galaxy M47 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, a chipset built on a 4nm process node. Samsung has paired this processor with LPDDR5X RAM, a combination designed to improve data transfer speeds, minimize application stutter, and optimize power efficiency by reducing overall memory consumption during heavy multitasking, said the company.

To manage thermal performance during intensive tasks, the device includes a Bypass Charging feature. When activated during gaming sessions, power is routed directly from the charging adapter to the device hardware rather than through the battery. This mechanism lowers internal heat generation and helps prevent thermal throttling, allowing for sustained performance.

Display, Battery, and Durability

The smartphone will pack a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is engineered to provide high touch responsiveness and smooth scrolling transitions across user interface elements, streaming applications, and games.

For structural protection, the display is shielded by Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus®+, which offers up to four times the scratch resistance of previous generations and is rated to withstand drops from heights of up to 2 meters.

The device will be equipped with a 6000mAh battery to support prolonged operational longevity. It supports 45W fast charging, reducing the time required to replenish the high-capacity battery cell.

Camera Capabilities

The rear imaging system consists of a triple-camera setup anchored by a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The hardware OIS works to counteract handheld vibrations, stabilizing video capture and maintaining clarity in high-resolution stills. For low-light environments, Samsung’s Nightography processing is included to capture brighter images with reduced noise.

On the front, the device houses a 12MP HDR camera optimized for varying exposure conditions, such as high-contrast or backlit outdoor settings. The Galaxy M47 5G supports video recording up to 4K resolution across its main camera system, prioritizing color accuracy and detail retention.

Software, AI Features, and Security

The smartphone will debut with One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, straight out of the box. The software integrates automated background management that places inactive applications into a low-power sleep mode to preserve battery life.

Samsung has committed to an extended support lifecycle for this model, promising:

  • 6 generations of Android OS upgrades
  • 6 years of security patches
Productivity and Ecosystem Features:
  • On-Device Voice Mail: Allows callers to leave audio messages locally on the device when the user is unavailable.
  • Samsung Wallet: Supports contactless Tap & Pay functionality for digital payments.
  • AI Integration: Includes Google-partnered features such as Circle to Search and the Google Gemini assistant for contextual search and automated tasks.
  • Security Suites: Utilizes hardware-backed protection via Samsung Knox Vault alongside software defenses like Auto Blocker to safeguard user data against malware and physical exploits.
Design

The Galaxy M47 5G features a slim profile and a contemporary design language targeted at younger demographics. It will be available in two distinct color options: Rogue Red and Blaze Blue.

The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G will be available from Amazon.in, in addition to Samsung India online store after the launch.
