OPPO India has announced the addition of two new smartphones to its premium lineup, the Find X9s and Find X9 Ultra, after the global launch last month. Scheduled to launch on May 21, these devices emphasize advanced camera hardware and proprietary computational photography technologies.
At the core of the new series is OPPO’s new-generation Hasselblad Master Camera System, working in conjunction with the LUMO Image Engine. This proprietary computational platform integrates optics, sensor control, color science, and image processing.
The LUMO Image Engine is engineered to enhance clarity, dynamic range, and noise reduction across photography and video applications while maintaining natural tonal balance and accurate color reproduction.
OPPO Find X9 Ultra: Specifications and Features
The Find X9 Ultra is positioned as the flagship model, prioritizing long-range photography, high-resolution video capture, and sustained performance.
Camera Architecture
- Triple Primary Configuration: The device features a 200MP main camera, a 200MP 3x telephoto camera, and a dedicated 50MP 10x optical-zoom telephoto camera.
- Quintuple Prism Periscope Structure: This industry-first internal architecture reflects light five times within the Hasselblad 50MP telephoto module. This design folds the optical path into a 29mm space, achieving an approximate 230mm equivalent focal length (a true 10x optical zoom) without proportionally increasing the module’s size.
- Optical Priority: The system is designed to prioritize optical image capture before applying computational refinement, reducing the reliance on digital reconstruction at longer focal lengths.
- Stabilization: Sensor Shift and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) are integrated to support stable handheld shooting across various scenarios, including sports and wildlife.
Video Capabilities
- Supports O-Log2 recording, ACES color workflows, and custom 3D LUT integration.
- Capable of 8K 30fps recording and 4K 120fps recording across both the main and telephoto cameras.
Performance and Battery
- Processor: Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, optimized by OPPO’s Trinity Engine.
- Thermal Management: Equipped with a 3D Cryo-velocity Cooling System, featuring an Encapsulated Thermal Unit and an ultra-thin vapor chamber engineered for rapid heat dissipation during intensive tasks like 8K video capture.
- Battery: Houses a 7050mAh OPPO Silicon-Carbon battery designed for extended use.
OPPO Find X9s: Specifications and Features
The Find X9s adapts the series’ imaging capabilities into a slimmer profile, focusing on everyday content creation and optimized thermal efficiency.
Design and Camera
- Form Factor: Features a slim 7.99mm chassis.
- Camera System: Incorporates a triple 50MP Hasselblad camera setup.
Video and Software
- Supports dual-video capture capabilities and features AI-powered tools integrated into ColorOS 16.
- Enables 4K 60fps Dolby Vision recording across all cameras to maintain consistent color and dynamic range when switching between focal lengths.
Performance and Battery
- Processor: Runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s platform, built on a 3nm process, and paired with the Trinity Engine.
- Thermal Management: Utilizes an Advanced Vapour Chamber Cooling System with a total dissipation area of 32,052.5mm². This represents a 21.6% increase in size compared to the previous generation, optimizing power efficiency and thermal stability.
- Battery: Includes a 7025mAh OPPO Silicon-Carbon battery.
Availability
Official pricing and retail availability details for both the OPPO Find X9s and the Find X9 Ultra will be confirmed during the launch event in India on May 21.
