India’s traditional PC market—including desktops, notebooks, and workstations—recorded 10.1% year-over-year (YoY) growth in Q3 2025, with shipments reaching 4.9 million units, marking the highest-ever quarterly performance, surpassing Q3 2024’s 4.5 million units, according to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker.
Strong Growth Across PC Categories
- Notebooks (largest segment): +9.5% YoY
- Desktops: +11.6% YoY
- Workstations: +14.2% YoY
Premium notebooks (priced above US$1,000) grew 8.5% YoY, driven by demand for high-performance devices across both consumer and enterprise segments.
AI-enabled notebooks surged 126.5% YoY, with basic AI notebooks making up 85.9% of shipments, supported by discounts and cashback offers. Next-generation AI notebooks surpassed 100,000 units shipped for the first time in a single quarter.
Consumer and Commercial Segment Performance
- Commercial segment: +11.4% YoY, driven by enterprise refresh cycles and SMB demand (18.8% YoY for SMBs, 13.1% YoY for small businesses)
- Consumer segment: record 2.8 million units shipped, driven by early festive season sales. Notebooks dominated e-tail channels with 997,000 units shipped, the best quarter yet.

Consumer buying patterns shifted, with many postponing purchases after the back-to-school season to capitalize on deep discounts during e-tail festivals.
Market Share Leaders
HP Inc. – 26.6% overall
- Led commercial segment with 34.6% share, driven by enterprise and SMB demand.
- Consumer shipments declined 10.4% YoY, affected by competition and HP’s transition from the Pavilion series to the OmniBook lineup, which is taking time to gain traction.
Lenovo – 18% overall
- Consumer segment grew 14.3% YoY, supported by festive e-tail offers and discounts.
- Commercial segment expanded 14.5% YoY, driven by small office (SO) growth of 46.9% YoY, where Lenovo led the market.
Acer Group – 15% overall
- Consumer growth driven by entry-level notebooks in e-tail channels.
- Commercial segment grew 4.1% YoY and led commercial desktops with 33.1% share, supported by government and enterprise orders.
Dell Technologies – 14.6% overall
- Consumer segment captured 10.3% share, improving after several challenging quarters.
- Commercial segment grew 6.9% YoY, driven by enterprise demand.
Asus – 10.2% overall
- Balanced presence across offline and online channels.
- Consumer segment 15.9% share, ranking second and trailing only HP.
- Commercial shipments 64,000+ units, primarily from SMB segment.
Outlook

Short-term adjustments may occur due to elevated channel inventory and minor processor supply constraints, but consumer notebook demand is expected to remain strong through H1 2026.
The outlook for enterprise-driven Windows refresh cycles remains positive, while minor inventory corrections may occur in the SMB segment. Overall demand for consumer notebooks is expected to continue through the first half of 2026.
