OnePlus 15 with 6.78″ 1.5K 165Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 7300mAh battery launched in India starting at Rs. 72,999

OnePlus just launched the OnePlus 15, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in India, as it had promised.

This foundation supports OxygenOS 16, which will introduce AI-driven features designed for smoother interaction, intelligent language tools, and enhanced imaging support. A deeper integration with Google’s personal AI assistant Gemini is noted, allowing users to connect with Mind Space to access and act on previously saved information. Additionally, the new Plus Mind feature is described as a personalized, context-aware second brain.

Display

The phone packs a 6.78″ 1.5K+ AMOLED screen with 1.15mm equilateral bezels, a high brightness mode (HBM) of 1800 nits, and an ultra-low minimum brightness of 1-nit by default for comfortable nighttime viewing.

The OnePlus 15 has 120Hz LTPO panel with 165Hz refresh rate for gaming. The phone supports ultra-smooth native 165fps support in titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile, Brawl Stars, and Clash of Clans.

It is supported by a dedicated touch response chip that brings, 3200Hz touch sampling for instant response to every interaction.

Performance

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, has support for up to 10,667Mbps 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra+ RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage, and has 360° Cryo-Velocity Cooling System integrates a 5,731mm² 3D vapor chamber for core heat dissipation, an aerospace-derived aerogel insulation layer that minimizes surface heat transfer, and a white graphite back cover for uniform thermal distribution.

Camera

The phone has a 50MP Sony sensor for the main camera, OIS, 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens and a 85mm portrait lens. There is a 32MP RGBW front camera.

It has 4K 120fps Dolby Vision video recording, and ultra-high-definition portraits. OnePlus is introducing the DetailMax Engine, an advanced system integrating multiple technologies to achieve clearer, high-fidelity photos.

Key features of the engine include:
  • Ultra-Clear 26MP mode: This mode combines data from multi-frame 12MP shots with a single 50MP high-resolution frame. The resulting 26MP photo is designed to offer improved clarity, particularly in complex textures like foliage and fabrics, while maintaining a practical file size.
  • Clear Burst: This feature improves on previous models by shooting at 10 frames per second, up from 6fps on the OnePlus 13. It utilizes dual-exposure anti-blur technology, capturing both short and long exposures simultaneously to freeze motion while retaining detail.
  • Clear Night Engine: For low-light photography, this engine employs Dual Analog Gain technology to eliminate timing gaps between exposures. The stated result is brighter, cleaner, and more natural-looking night photos with reduced noise.
Design and Durability

The OnePlus 15 maintains the brand’s focus on design with three announced color finishes:

  • Infinite Black: Features a premium frosted glass back, offering a deep, matte finish intended to resist fingerprints.
  • Sand Storm: Combines a lightweight fiberglass composite back panel with a micro-arc oxidized (MAO) metal frame. The company indicates this advanced ceramic-grade coating is 1.3 times harder than a titanium mid-frame, aimed at enhancing durability.
  • Ultra Violet: This option utilizes a dual-layer optical coating that shifts from violet to sapphire depending on the light source.

It has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, so it can withstand water immersion at a depth of 2m for 30 min and high-pressure water jets at temperatures up to 80°C.

Battery and charging

The OnePlus 15 features the highest-capacity battery of any OnePlus phone, the 7300mAh Silicon NanoStack battery. Taking advantage of OnePlus’s advanced silicon anode technology with a 15% silicon content. The OnePlus 15 supports 120W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging for rapid power-ups.

Additionally, its Bypass Charging function supports direct device power without charging the battery, avoiding excess heat, and preserving battery longevity. The battery is designed to retain over 80% of its health after 4 years of use and operates reliably in temperatures as low as -20°C.
