Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 Glasses coming to Amazon, Flipkart and Reliance Digital in India on November 21

Meta launched the Ray-Ban Gen 1 smart glasses, created in partnership with EssilorLuxottica in India, back in May this year. It was available from Ray-Ban.com, through leading optical and sunglass stores across the country.

Today, the company has announced that the smart glasses will be available from Amazon, Flipkart, and Reliancedigital.in from November 21st.

Starting today, November 6, interested buyers can sign up for “Notify Me” alerts to be among the first to shop the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 range from these retailers online.

The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 collection includes several frame and lens variations. A key feature is the integration of Meta AI, which allows users to engage with the glasses using the voice command “Hey Meta” for inquiries, information retrieval, and hands-free control.

The collection features classic Ray-Ban frame styles and offers options for prescription, sun, polarized, and Transitions lenses. The glasses are complemented by a compact charging case. Privacy has been addressed with a visible capture LED indicator that illuminates when the camera is in use, signaling recording activity to those nearby.

Recent Feature Enhancements

Meta has recently introduced new experiences specifically for users of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses in India:

  • Hindi Language Support: Users can now communicate with Meta AI in Hindi.
  • Celebrity AI Voice: The voice of celebrity Deepika Padukone has been introduced as an interactive option for Meta AI.
  • “Restyle” Feature: Available for the festive season, the “Restyle” feature allows users to transform photos using the command “Hey Meta, restyle this” to incorporate lights, colors, and celebratory themes.
  • Upcoming UPI Lite Payments: Meta is planning to test UPI Lite payments integration. This feature will allow users to complete quick transactions under INR 1,000 by looking at a QR code and issuing the command “Hey Meta, scan and pay.” This is intended to facilitate seamless and secure micro-transactions directly through the glasses.
