Redmi Pad 2 to launch in India on June 18th

Update: Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of Redmi Pad 2 tablet in India on June 18th. The company has also confirmed the launch of Wi-Fi + Cellular variant in the country. It also shows stylus support for the tablet. The company has also hinted that it will be in under Rs. 20,000 price segment.

The tablet is already official in some countries, which confirms 11″ 2.5K 90Hz screen, Mediatek Helio G100 Ultra processor, quad speakers, 7.36 sleek metal body and 9000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

Earlier: Xiaomi has started teasing the launch of Redmi Pad 2, successor to the first Redmi Pad, which was launched 3 years back. The teaser shows there will be a big reveal on June 5th, and it has a tag line ‘Built for More’ hinting at a large screen and the battery.

Other teaser also hints and at a large battery and the multimedia experience. It also says that the table will be lighter and compact compared to a laptop. The teaser image also shows stylus support for the tablet.

The global teaser for the Redmi Pad 2 shows the tablet in two colours, 8MP rear camera, 3.5mm audio jack, and it also confirms that there will be a 4G model.

Another teaser for the standard Wi-Fi shows an additional Violet colour, in addition to Mint Green and Grey colours.

Based on listing in Europe, the tablet will pack an 11-inch 2.5K 90Hz screen with up to 600 nits peak brightness, MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra SoC, feature a 5MP front camera, quad speakers and a 9,000 mAh battery 18W charging.

The Redmi Pad 2 was also on listed on site in Europe for 199 Euros (USD 227 / Rs. 19,395 approx.) for the 4GB + 128GB Wi-Fi model and the Redmi Pad 2 4G 8GB + 256GB model was listed for 299 Euros (USD 261 / Rs. 22,320 approx.).

The Redmi Pad 2 will be sold on Amazon.in, Flipkart, mi.com and offline stores after the launch. We should know the exact India launch details later this week.
