Samsung Galaxy A55 5G with the model number SM-A5560 has received China’s 3C certification revealing 25W fast charging, similar to the Galaxy A54. This doesn’t come with a charger in the box, similar to most other Samsung phones.
The phone is said to be one of the first to use Exynos 1480 SoC (S5E8845) with 4 x performance cores clocked at 2.75GHz and 4 x efficiency cores clocked at 2.05GHz.
This reveals 882 single-core and 2808 multi-core Geekbench 5 scores, slightly better than the A54 which scored 778 and 2752 single and multi-core scores, respectively. This might not be the final unit, so it might change.
The Exynos 1480 is also said to be the first mid-range Exynos chip to use AMD GPU, and this should use Xclipse 530 GPU. We still don’t have any benchmark scores for the GPU to compare it with the Mali-G68 MP5 GPU in the Exynos 1380 SoC used in the Galaxy A54.
The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is rumoured to feature a 50MP rear main camera, 12MP ultra-wide and a 32MP front camera, same as the Galaxy A54. We should know more details in the coming weeks, since the phone is expected to arrive in early 2024.
