Instagram receives a new logo, gradient colors and typeface

A visual refresh across multiple facets of Instagram’s brand has been announced today as part of the company’s effort to bring “new energy.” Furthermore, the company has created its own typeface to emphasize its focus on independent creators on its platform. The new logo features vibrant colors that make it appear illuminated and alive. According to Instagram, this refresh was made to “signal moments of discovery.”

The Instagram gradient: It’s made up of our brand colors and is our whole color scheme. In our marketing, logo, and app (Create mode, stickers, and Instagram Story rings), the way the gradient is lit up shows moments of discovery. We’re eager to bring Instagram’s gradient to life, says Instagram.

New typeface Instagram Sans: Our logo and wordmark, which people see every day, were the inspiration for Instagram Sans. The new typeface was built with our heritage in mind and features global scripts, the company said. The font will also be available in the app for Stories and Reels. Instagram Sans is available in a variety of languages, including Arabic, Thai, and Japanese, in addition to English. Recently, Instagram introduced a lot of new features, including new messaging options, Enhanced Tags on Reels for creators, etc.

According to an Instagram blog post,

Our new design system puts content at the center, with a focus on simplicity and self-expression. The new marketing layouts for Instagram showcase full-screen imagery, reference the in-app experience and celebrate the creativity we see from our community every day.
